Is there a way to have only cognitive effects of psychedelics such as lsd? To either kill the visual effects or to get the cognitive effects some other way?
>inb4 microdosing
I'm talking about full blown effects

What effects do you mean exactly?

In my experience, the feeling of knowing and understanding everything and being almost in your grasp is just that, a feeling. It's great, but it's illusory.

Maybe you mean how (especially later in the trip, during the comedown) you can easily make and spot connections between things? Well then, try microdosing lol. It kinda helps with that, though sometimes hard to tell how much of it is placebo.

All psychedelics (might be wrong here) work on serotonin receptors in the brain. With sufficiently low doses senses are only barely affected and only your pattern recognition gets noticeably more attentive. I don't think you can go better than this - the receptors that are affected are the same everywhere in the brain, and since it travels through your blood to your brain, it gets spread quite evenly everywhere. I don't think there is any kind of barrier between neocortex and the rest of the brain that can be utilised.

Anyway - at peak, it's almost impossible to focus, so not much you can really do the.

Maybe there are other drugs that do what you want, but probably way more dangerous and/or unpleasant.

So, if you want to use psychedelics to "get smarter" or something like that, then microdose or gtfo. This, or go on a trip once in a while.

Try shrooms. There's stil visuals but they're much less potent and the cognitive effects are better. Trips also don't last forever

Why don't you like visuals? It's not like they're debilitating.

Lol what the fuck. Shrooms makes you retarded. LSD largely maintains and even improves my cognition (I tested in chess, math).

why are physics and astronomy together? is it too pull down the physics mean? i can't imagine any intelligent person wasting their life on a useless field like geography of space.

Salvia is not all that visual even at high doses. Getting identical effects is impossible, unless you have 1 billion dollars to put into research.

Visuals are cognitive. The idea they're some raw immediate thing that has no cognition involved in it is a meme.

Fairly sure that is just trip to trip randomness. LSD and Psilocybin are almost identical. I've taken shrooms hundereds of times, and tested my abillity to do tons of stuff (play sax, do integrals, play vidya, lift, recite poetry, to name a few), and found that both shrooms and lsd only inhibit this at high doses, and when they do, they do it more or less the same way and degree.

I was basing on moderate dosages. But as, at high doses you're fucked, regardless of which drug it is.
