everything I work on is huge, anon, and most things are made with 3/4 in thick plate
when you're putting plates together over more than a football field, slight gaps add up

Tanker trucks are also expected to have much longer service lives and are not experimental prototypes meant primarily to test out propulsion, guidance, and aerodynamics in only the second full sized production rocket in the world to land itself retropropulsively. On top of that their tanks are much smaller and can easily be built within an enclosed factory and such factories have existed and been operating for decades on-end now. I mean I'd have similar expectations of quality if this were the production model Starship but it just isn't, so I don't understand this criticism at all.
