Back in the day, narrative stories (tales) were often written in metered verse. Mathematics is perhaps the most ancient subject of all time, if not just the most ancient subject known to man. It seems only natural for OP to adopt the ancient style of traditional storytelling to fashion a tale about mathematics. To compose this post in particular OP used a slight variation on the poetic form called pantoum adapted into greentext in keeping with the times.
