hey /sci/, how do I learn how to learn? I've quite literally forgotten how to properly study and fully understand concepts. Please, I need your help. Are methods such as mind maps the real deal or is it a meme? All I can recall that works is pure repetition.

Nevermind, I figured it out.

:(

I just want to learn how to learn, man

The more learning techniques you use, the more areas of the brain you use.
For example if you use coloured high lighting of important sentences, in different colours, that will be much easier to process and recall than just reading the page, as you have more reference points on the data.
Also white boards are essential.
Just try as many techniques as you can, find what works for you.

I could never learn that "important sentences" technique, somehow I think mostly everything on a text is important!

I don't get it. Why are white boards essential? They feel fleeting like tears in rain.

Read, try to recall all the information you've just read 30 seconds later, reread what you didn't remember or didn't understand.
Always make sure you truly understand and aren't just memorising things.
Try explaining the concepts to someone else (real or imaginary) to try and test your knowledge.

If we knew that then we wouldn't need you to, since human intelligence would be obsolete.

Translating thoughts into text and diagrams which you then re-process involves many parts of the brain and this helps you remember and understand concepts. If you really need to preserve something you've written or drawn on a whiteboard, take a picture.

100% truth, a nice 4'x8' board on a rolling stand remains some of the best money I've ever spent. I love this thing, it's double sided too.
