Hey meds. I want to gain access to my entire health record including those kept by individual GPs. I am aware that the process likely differs dependent upon country of residence.

My reasons for doing so are to make an official complaint against a surgeon who raped me on the operating table. I wish to gather evidence to ensure that other meds are not colluding with the offender in question.

I'm not sure if this is common in other parts of the world, but here in Australia I want to make sure that this kind of unprofessionalism is dealt with appropriately.

I've got mitral valve prolapse which was diagnosed when i was child. I have no single problem or symptoms related to it.
I got average heart rate like 60-80 bpm depending of time of the day. And blood pressure at the upper limit of normal.

My left eyelid gets droopy when I'm tired, I posted about this and somebody suggested I may have a potentially fatal but easily-treatable autoimmune disorder (myasthenia gravis).

Apparently the best way to find out if you have this immune disorder is to put an ice pack on your eyelid and see if it improves, because the autoimmune disorder attacks some mechanism of chemical communication between the nerves and muscles that is improved by cold. I left the ice pack on my eyelid for maybe half a minute and it jumped right back up to where the other one is.

How fucked am I? One thing to note is that I was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome before I can remember and my hand-eye coordination has always been pretty garbage, but I'm not sure if this relates to weakness from myasthenia at all.

I'm pretty weak physically as well, but I basically never exercise even though I know I should. I'm not muscular at all visibly, I don't know if that means the autoimmune disorder would probably be limited to my eyes or not.. Can a drooping eyelid from tiredness that's solved by application of an ice pack be caused by things that aren't a potentially fatal autoimmune disorder?

No, the ice test is not the best way to find out if you have MG, actually it's very unreliable. You need a careful clinical examination and eventually neurophisiological tests to corroborate this hypothesis. Consult a neurologist.

Eyelid dropping from tiredness is common and sometimes has no otherwise meaning, my right eyelid tends to drop too and I dont have MG.

Ocular disturbances (diplopia, eyelid dropping) paired with fatigability (rather than weakness) are strongly suggestive of MG, but there's not much an ice cube can tell you.

I'm an OMS-1 that started off okay but doing worse recently as workload is getting heavier. I had time to go to the gym and shit while getting A's on quizzes last month, and this month I'm straight bombing quizzes (65% avg) with what feels like no time at all. Still haven't failed an exam but every time I study hard for an exam to only score ~80%, my quizzes for the week take a hit. I'm specifically struggling in visceral anatomy and embryology. I think I'm memorizing the right things thanks to Anki, but once I see the quiz it's like "wtf are these questions Gray's review didn't prepare me for this..." as it slowly chips my grade away from an 80% toward 70%. Maybe it's the time constraint that gets me? Any advice would be appreciated, I'll check this thread again tomorrow.

I don't know how it is in US, but in my gypsy shithole, after taking the residency exam, you can specialize directly in IM subspecs. For example you're a good student and you get a 936/999 (highest score I've ever seen here) and pick cards. You do 4 years of IM and 2 of cards afterwards and after you finish residency you become a cardiologist, not an internist. I think our residency program is a combination between your residency and the thing you call "fellowship". You don't really have to impress someone to get the spec you want here, if you're a decent human being and your brain works well enough to memorize medicine does trick. Brown nosing here is kept for the docs that want to get into those comfy admin positions (and also very rare but paid extremely well)

It kind of got competitive in the past few years, top students usually pick cards or some clinical shit. The surgical specs are the last ones that get picked with FM, IM and Occupational Med. (And in surgical, I mean there's ortho positions free in the low 700 scores).

Most people don't give that much shit about residency because there are only a handful that want to pick something "cool". (Cards, GI, Ophto, derm, OB/GYN, endocrinology - the rest, not so much)
