Hey anons diagnosed with autism who are lurking /sci/, I'm just curious to see a percentage and ask you some things.
-Which diagnoses have you got? (Asperger?)
-Why is that the famous one? In what it differs from other form of autism?
-How does it affect your life?
-Why are you anons with Asperger stereotyped as Sheldon Cooper (basically asexual, avoids human contacts, can't understand sarcasm etc etc)
-Are those stereotypes true? Do you want to have sex (i.e. do you masturbates)? Have you ever had sex? Do you avoid human contacts? If yes is it because you find it uncomfortable or for hygiene issues? Do you understand sarcasm? Are you totally unable to learn when something is said in a sarcastic way?
-Are you able to be empathetic towards other people?
-Did you got bullied? If yes, do you know if towards the year more people acknowledge what autism is and bullying episodes are decreasing?
-Have you got any friends? How many of them are autistic as well?
-Would you want to be cured?

Sorry for my eventual errors but I english is my third language

May ask other things if I get answers

-Which diagnoses have you got?

Autism

-Why is that the famous one? In what it differs from other form of autism?

Movies. Diagnostically, it was only different by lacking a delay in language development. It no longer exists medically.

-How does it affect your life?

It makes it terrible

-Why are you anons with Asperger stereotyped as Sheldon Cooper

Movies and TV shows. Autists are too varied to stereotype aside from “avoids human contact”

-Are those stereotypes true?

All stereotypes are true for some people.

-Do you want to have sex

Constantly

-Have you ever had sex?

Yes

-Do you avoid human contacts? If yes is it because you find it uncomfortable or for hygiene issues?

It’s uncomfortable

-Do you understand sarcasm?

Yes

-Are you able to be empathetic towards other people?

Empathetic to the point it’s detrimental

-Did you got bullied?

No

-Have you got any friends? How many of them are autistic as well?

Yes. only one is autistic

-Would you want to be cured?

Obviously. Why would anyone ever want a disease?

>-Which diagnoses have you got? (Asperger?)
Pic attached
>-Why is that the famous one? In what it differs from other form of autism?
"Aspergers" is not so concrete, which is why it is now standard to diagnose autism on a spectrum instead of as a few distinct-but-related disorders. As for why it was the most famous, it's because the most high-functioning of autists are the ones you're most likely going to have a conversation with, there's a myth of Aspie superiority compared to the general public, and self-suspected autists are going to pick the most mild form of autism to self-diagnose themselves as.
>-How does it affect your life?
I'm invested in a few narrow topics like meteorology/Earth science/astronomy to the detriment of other areas that are crucial for success. I find it to be extremely awkward walking around other people and staring them in the eyes for an extended period of time. People treat me like a special needs child probably because they think I'm far dumber than I actual am.
>-Why are you anons with Asperger stereotyped as Sheldon Cooper (basically asexual, avoids human contacts, can't understand sarcasm etc etc)
Dunno, maybe because of Sheldon Cooper himself?
>Do you want to have sex (i.e. do you masturbates)?
Yes and yes.
>Have you ever had sex?
No.
>Do you avoid human contacts?
Yes unless they're a close family member and I want something from them or feel like talking about something I'm interested in
>If yes is it because you find it uncomfortable or for hygiene issues?
Mostly the former, but I am self-conscious about potential halitosis as well.
>Do you understand sarcasm? Are you totally unable to learn when something is said in a sarcastic way?
I'm very good at detecting sarcasm. It developed naturally.
>-Are you able to be empathetic towards other people?
Yes, but I verbally won't express any empathy. At best, I might communicate it in writing, but I usually keep my feelings to myself.

>-Did you got bullied? If yes, do you know if towards the year more people acknowledge what autism is and bullying episodes are decreasing?
Yes, I noticed that people were treating me like an idiot starting in 7th grade. Within a couple of years, this bullying transformed more from a direct to an indirect form (e.g., laughing as a group when I spoke and not looking at me, clearly indicating that they thought I couldn't tell). I'd guess that overt bullying is decreasing but that the latter type isn't.
>-Have you got any friends? How many of them are autistic as well?
I have no friends but I've had some in high school, though I never did anything with them outside of school in person. Not that I desire any friends.
>-Would you want to be cured?
Hell yes.

>> No.10945764

>>10945694
>-Which diagnoses have you got? (Asperger?)
There is only one diagnosis and it's ASD. Whether or not that's right I don't know. It's one of multiple diagnoses I've got, most of them wrong.
>-Why is that the famous one? In what it differs from other form of autism?
Rainman-autism and smash-your-head-autism are both inaccurate portrayals of autism.
>-How does it affect your life?
To the degree that there are differences in perception between "normal" people and me. In my case, it doesn't affect my public life.
>-Why are you anons with Asperger stereotyped as Sheldon Cooper (basically asexual, avoids human contacts, can't understand sarcasm etc etc)
Because stereotypes make life easier and most people do not want to invest or don't have the mental capacity of judging every situation/case by itself.
>-Are those stereotypes true? Do you want to have sex (i.e. do you masturbates)?
Asexuality has nothing to do with Autism.
>Have you ever had sex?
No because the necessary investments exceeds the profits.
>Do you avoid human contacts?
Depends on the person. Most people however are boring, predictable and stupid.
>If yes is it because you find it uncomfortable or for hygiene issues?
Sometimes for hygiene issues since most people have little personal hygiene.
>Do you understand sarcasm?
Yes.
>Are you totally unable to learn when something is said in a sarcastic way?
That's a stereotype.
>-Are you able to be empathetic towards other people?
Not anymore. I used to earlier. Most people are vile creatures who deserve no sympathy. I am empathetic towards animals.
>-Did you got bullied? If yes, do you know if towards the year more people acknowledge what autism is and bullying episodes are decreasing?
No, never got bullied. Social isolation is for most autistics a much bigger issue.
>-Have you got any friends? How many of them are autistic as well?
Always had friends. None of them are autistic.
-Would you want to be cured?
Cured from what? Being different?

Quite easy. Disinterest. Whether or not the final product is worth it, is of little importance here. I reckon it not. Also why pursue sex if you don't love the girl anyway and I've never fallen in love so it's a non-issue.

>Also why pursue sex if you don't love the girl anyway
Sex with love is way way way better, but even going with a hooker (with all the cautions such as condom etc etc) is a real nice experience, orgasm after sex is on a whole different level of those achieved by themselves

If you are autistic I have the intuition that the proportion of people who can't build muscle is much higher in this category

That's interesting because I'm autistic and have had lots of crushes/love interests. I wonder if our manifestations of autism were even caused by the same mechanism.

As much efforts as I could. Sweating heavily after each 45min-1h session (which is normal length for strength training, usually closer to 45min than 1h), 3-4 times a week for 3 years (upping the frequency leads to tendonitis and the like, which is detrimental to my training)
In my country, dieteticians are bloody idiots with like 2 years of "college study" so I avoid them. My diet is in check, with more than enough kcals and protein to build muscle in principle
I've had a PT check my form for every exercise several times and it is good enough (though it took some time to get the squat form right)

>Why is having another person telling you who you are more important
People define themselves over the relations they have with other people. If a community for whatever reason decides that you or people like you do that or that, you are inclined to do that since all relations you have reinforce that view. That's why we've got so nice things like slavery, petty tribal wars or holocausts because you're defined over other people and not by yourself.

No, it isn't. Most people inherently adopt the position a majority of their social group holds. The process is non-conscious and not a matter of will. Things will just seem right when they weren't earlier. That's how you got all the boomers from being against homosexuality to supporting it.
