Why are mathematicians so much more likely to be religious than other scientists? Almost all relevant mathematicians are religious while a lot of phycisists or biologists are atheists.

Because if God exists, he's a mathematicians. That means that in heaven we will all be high ranking generals, while scientists will be thrown in the brainlet bin.

Mathematicians are axiom/proof oriented and rational.
Physicists and life scientists are falsifiability/evidence oriented and empirical.
Mathematicians who deal in abstractions disconnected from base reality on a daily basis can understand higher level theological and metaphysical concepts easily where scientists have to shoehorn metaphors from their field into theological concepts which always fails. Example: using the position-velocity uncertainty principle to epicly destroy contingency argument libtards or whatever.
Interestingly, mathematicians are more likely to be closer to Catholicism but engineers are more likely to be Protestant. Engineers are also more likely to support YEC and flat Earth. So take that as you will.

basically what this guy said, but less cringe.
Mathematicians, Philosophers, Logicians, and Theologians are all very similar in that they realize all that exists is mind, and anything perceived at all is only mind. They extrapolate universal rationalistic principles and its obvious god exists if you think like that

Scientists, Biologists, physicists etc assume that the universe's existence is "stronger" then what we percieve. In other words we see reality, and things like thoughts, numbers, abstractions dont exist accept as a reductionist states of neurons firing

Mathematicians are mostly autists and schizos. None of them go to an actual church, if they mention a God it's some personal self-aggrandizing headcanon designed either to glorify their own particular gay field of research (schizos) or to justify their intense interest in boring fiddly shit (autists) or to try and sound deep instead of nerdy when failing to pick up chicks (the remainder)

The answer to your question is actually really simple: Mathematicians are simply more intelligent (on average) than other STEM fields.

This, when I'm chatting up whores at party or bar I usually try to sell math as the subline language of the universe itself, and if she's receptive I'll compare the experience proving a theorem with having an orgasm. Still a virgin btw.

Mathematicians actually need to have decent understanding of logic and reasoning to succeed. Physicists, especially 'modern' theoretical physicists, lack self awareness and are plagued with cognitive dissonance. Biologists are basically babbies playing around with materialist philosophy and are often far from being 'actual scientists'. Would you consider a chink who tries to reverse engineer western tech and simply tears it down rices it in order to duplicate it as an innovator?

Mathematicians are all autists who just regurgitate what their professor tells them to.
Scientists, on the other hand, think for themselves and possess creativity and critical thought.

There's nothing pseudo about that, moron. Just saying something is "pseud" doesn't mean anything.
Meanwhile, the scientific method has hit the limit and shown reality is local, stochastic, and nonrealist which completely blows materialism and physicalism out of the set of valid ontology. Those philosophies are the actual pseud shit.

You are mostly right, but I am a physicist and mathematician, and I don't do any of the socially weird things you described. Nor do any of my friends in the fields. But some of them do like to sound deep and have some dumb ass personalised idea of god or religion, which doesn't gel really with any organised religion. Just a by-product of them being overwhelmed by the beauty and complexity of the universe, and catastrophically failing to realise they are all subjective notions.

Somebody who is raised religious is unlikely to want to study biology since it disagrees with their beliefs, math isn't particularly related to theological claims and so is more accessible.
