What does the 4th dimension look like?

>> No.10921906

>>10921863
Don't look at it as a dimension as much as an extra degree of freedom.

Movement. Things changing are going through the 4th dimension. Static images are 3d and below.

>>10922013
we dont really perceive movement right? more like a bunch of static images stacked one after the other giving the illusion of movement due to entropy

1D X
2D X,Y
3D X,Y,Z

Don't visualize it just compute it

i had a drema i saw the 4th dimension and what i assume was the 5th.. I cant even describe it. But there were shapes and things going from the 4rd dimension and transforming into abstract shapes..I wish i could explain it.

>> No.10922198

>>10922187
I imagine it as orthogonal to the z axis but not parallel to the x axis. When I try to visualize it I get bizarre twisted shapes in flux. It's like trying to imagine a color I haven't seen. I feel like I'm right on the edge of understanding its appearance, but can only understand through a matrix of points what's really going on. I feel like that guy from the book Blindsight, a Chinese Room

>1D
literally a point with no length, height, inside/outside, weight. Nothing.
>2D
Can move left and right
>3D
Can move left and right, up and down, has an inside and an outside
>4D
One can do 3D + see (with eyes) the back-side and under-side of any object in the same plane
OR
Time becomes a physical plane where you can move or stay. Eternal-realm.

its this. imagine you have every frame of a video printed out and inside a binder. you can choose to move to any frame you want. aliens of the 4th dimension could be 1 second behind you in time and you wouldn't know they exist despite them seeing you clearly

What is it with scientists and uncritically accepting authority?

>> No.10925310

It's a little cliche but look up videos using the example of 2D flatlanders. The point of pretty much all of them is that it's impossible to visualize the fourth dimension. We can visualize a shadow or slice.
