funding for mathematics is hugely based on how much they can shill to the public

the concept of not even the smartest and most well paid people being to understand eachother would quickly lead to a ceasing of any kind of funds because whoever is pouring money into these autists would realize that they don't even understand what they are doing anymore themselves

additionally mathematicians are usually kind hearted people and losing your reputation would easily end your career completely unwarranted , which is why we will never ever witness a direct confrontation

instead people will just passively publish whatever they think is right and this whole thing will slowly die off

while other works get more prizes to make mochizuki is gone for good

i love this post. it simulates the experience that the reviewers went through as they were trying to understand mochizuki's proof.

So human hyper-specialization is a dead end?

We need real AI to fix this problem.

hyper-specializing in AI theory, you mean?

Mochizuki was just not smart by basically forcing everybody else to try and understand what he produced by announcing grandiose results and such.
If you are this ahead of your time (or presume to be) then you should just publish the framework so people later on can try to understand it if they want to and you'll receive your credit later on (when ur dead)
but by baiting everybody by claiming he proved X Y conjecture he owned himself

it's just a dumb move but i guess he just wanted to win some prizes because thats all he's got going for him (not meaning to put him down , but doing this kind of work porably requires u to think about it 24/7 for the rest of your life)

doesn't this tell you everything you need to know? have you ever tried to follow the logic of a japanese media product's story? it doesn't exist it's nothing, wrapped in the trappings of a story.
it's the same with robotics research. western unis invented drones and robots that learn to pick different shit up while occasionally you see an article about new research in robotics and start reading it just to find it's like some fetishist's ramblings about how a person could love a robot...
