What debt? If you didn't get scholarships you shouldn't have bothered going to uni.

PhDs lead to roughly the same life time income due to much higher pay on average after graduation (obviously nothing's gauranteed). And career prospects feature more meaningful and interesting work and far higher ceilings for promotions and income.

Maybe all you wage slaves wouldn't be in your shitty situation if you took a looked at the whole picture more often.

This reads like one of those shitty fb Boomer memes. College isn't about money. If the only thing you can think of is income then you're just as cucked as some debt slave art major.

In Europe it's 3 bachelors, 2 masters, 2-5 PhD.

In America it's 3-4 bachelors, 2-5 PhD.

You can finish your PhD way faster in the US if you work hard. Europe is cucked for for you to do a useless degree like Masters so that they can remove the specialisation courses in a dumbed down undergraduate curriculum (I have studied on both continents, believe me Europe has a very low standard compared to the US these days, the only exception is possibly math programmes).

Most PhDs struggle to find jobs outside of tech and when they get it they struggle to go up because they overcomplicate everything.
On average, getting a PhD is only smart if you really love your subject and want to stay in academia.
If you want money, just stop at bachelor's (maybe at master's) and go work in Wall Street/Silicon Valley or start a company.

Nah, I know number theory guys that found good baking jobs after. You don't have to stay in tech, most people just prefer it.
