Quantum mechanics implies that the universe is probably not a simulation. This depends on your interpretation of it. What's to say it requires "ghosts" to be real? Posthumans would be able to simulate birth and death so there would be no need to randomly "spawn" things in. Furthermore, if there is any glitch in the simulation, the simulators would have the available technology of pausing and reversing said simulation so that these glitches are not observed by those in the simulation.

You don't need to slow down the frame rate. You would save a shit ton of computing power simply by not bothering to render the 99.999999999% of detail about the universe that no sentient entities inside the simulation are aware of at any given point in time.

^^^This. I think it's retarded anyone even tries to disprove simulation theory. The best you can do is point out it's not falsifiable and therefore not a scientific idea.
In order to falsify it you would need to know what the world simulating this world is like. Assuming it's the same as our world is not only unwarranted but also explicitly nonsensical since we can't currently simulate a full blown universe which would if nothing else make the lower level reality further along in technology than we are.
And for every slavish replica universe simulated why wouldn't there be any number of alternative universes simulated where parameters are screwed around with? If you want to talk about being similar to us, we would certainly screw with parameters and not just rest satisfied with a single slavish replica if we were in the position to simulate universes. Any other technological innovation or scientific study humanity has ever worked on has involved tweaking parameters to see what happens.
