At best it'd be an automated probe that would orbit the planet and scan all data it needs from the atmosphere before sending back the data and burning itself up in our atmosphere to destroy all evidence of its presence.

You need to have elementary school logic to assume advanced species capable of reaching the Earth are naked biological creatures.

Humanity wouldn't even do that in 2019. Let alone when we actually have the technology to reach other planets. We'd sent an AI controlled probe instead and datamine the entire planet from orbit without ever interacting with the locals or shown our existence to them.
