10784468 No.10784468 [Reply] [Original]

So my university is holding a battlebots tournament soon and I was wondering what the best, most unfair weapon would be.
I have some ideas of my own.
>Ionized water could fry the boards
>Blowtorch could cut much better than the petty flamethrowers they use on the show.

Please help, it is critical.

>> No.10784474

What are the rules and restrictions of the contest? Ionized water sounds cool, nobody would really expect it.

Not sure why you think it won't work. If you look at Robot Wars and whatnot you'll find that wedgebots were pretty OP in the first seasons.

Later people started developing shit like invertible robots and self-righting mechanisms to counter them.

But in a random tournament that probably won't be the case.

Make it out of high-density polyethylene. Same shit as cutting boards. I'm yet to stab a knife into one and have it stand jam in.

Then basically you just want to copy Tombstone.
Except his blade at the mount. Tomb stone has less than 0.08 width around the hole. No, not plate thickness. That's for distance of a mounting bolt.
This is a pivot. You want 0.5 width around it, or It'll just snap.
Tombstones blade is a fucky sort of bisalloy 600.
So 570 - 640 HB factor.

>make a rectangular frame with two front wheels on the outside, with the axles extending through the LEGO holes to the inside.
>put mini L pieces on the axles to act as cams, actuating a large front fork that is on a swivel connecting to the rear of the car.
>as the car drives forward, the cams on the wheel axles turn, this repeatedly lifting the front fork and depriving your opponents wheels of purchase on the ground.

A opened hose can't be a pressure vessel. As it cannot not maintain above ambient pressure. It may run some pressure when in operation. Bit it cannot store it.
But your push pump potentially can. Depending on pressure creator leaving an air lock. Between the pickup, and pump. Literally only a head of how tall your straw is. But it's technically a sealed system.
