Definition of mathematics

1 : the science of numbers and their operations (see operation sense 5), interrelations, combinations, generalizations, and abstractions and of space (see space entry 1 sense 7) configurations and their structure, measurement, transformations, and generalizations Algebra, arithmetic, calculus, geometry, and trigonometry are branches of mathematics.

Two definitions I'm gonna come up with. The differences between them is in how the word can be used to describe either an idea or a thing.
1) Mathematics is the study of quantifiable logic. E.g. I do Mathematics;
2) Mathematics is also a collection of ideal quantified logical paradigms, which can be used as a hypothesis for a real quantified logical paradigm. E.g. this article of mathematics describes a differential operator to represent an object in motion.

>>10746265
Wrong. The distributive property doesnt just come for free when you go from abelian groups to rings by just "rehashing" the original group operators.
