How the fuck do I get a job out of uni? I just graduated a few months back with a chem BS and I dont even know where to start looking. Is working through contract companies a good idea?

Did you do any research/internships in uni?

Well, you can prolly find work as a lab tech/dishwasher with only a BS. That's the end of the line for you.

It's important to have at least 5 to 10 options, routs to employment with the credentials acquired before chosing the field! Apply to allpharma companies, food production companies, cosmetic companies, chemical production from household to industry... If you have no idea where to start start where you can, a contractor w. e.

Also you can interview people in your field, see if the school can help put you in touch with alumni or just dead calls asking people questions! Good luck!

I graduated last year May 26th with a Chem BS degree as well. I fucking hated studying chemistry (long ass story) and wanted out, so I decided to go into SaaS Sales. Took me 5 months to get my first job, granted I hardly tried the first 2 months (I had a really bad college experience, had to recover). And the first job I got was really shit. Soooo shit. But since I was living with parents it gave me a good savings account ($5000) and some practical experience in my role. I left after two months to pursue jobs in another, more appealing city. 3 months later I got a job at a wonderful startup where I still work.

Are you still trying to get a job in chemistry? My only tip for you then is forget about cover letters. Use LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor, and spam apply to as many jobs as you can EVERY DAY. You're gonna have to make a lot of phone interviews, become an expert at it!

>Finish first year of physics degree
>Look for a job over the summer
>Find a job paying the equivalent of 36k a year which'll be happy to accommodate me for that time
>Literally zero relevant experience but I still surpass several older people with experience becuase they're impressed with my degree
Wtf guys, you'd told me this would be hard
