Will we be able to definitively cure it? and yes I mean every type of it
Perhaps a method that extracts cancer cells from a patient to develop a highly specialized drug that targets those specific cancerous cells?
Nano robots with the ability to analyze individual cell's dna and kill the mutated ones?
Will cancer become the number one cause of death in our life time? (Is it already?)

>> No.10705972

superbug is more scary than this.
i actually want to create supervirus that kill all humans though.
hope there's no cure for cancer.

It all sounds like a funny joke until you or your close family is diagnosed with cancer

Everybody will get cancer one day in their life, assuming they don't die to something else sooner. It's just statistics

We'll get to the point were we can comfortably smash most cancers, but it will be problem until we get working cell replacement treatments.

Maybe.

Curable for shore, I am of the opinion the immune system will provide the answers! We will be able in most part to treat it like an infection and adjust the immune system to normalize and percent action that induces stimulated cells to grow out of control! Cells usually grow out of control when area is in need of healing and damged, they will send a message to the immune system to combat infection and proceed to grow quicker to heal the affected area!

It may be entirely possible cancer is a immune system triggered glitch, the immune system is constantly receiving signals of damage!

When chemo is done the immune system falls and slows down the reproductions of the cells somewhat, however it cannot reverse the damage so often damage and weakened system leads to death! When chemo is stored it seems with terminal patients the growth may go into overdrive, the immune is not suppresses much and bounces back to do damage control and hence growth spreads like wild fire!

Now what could be triggering the immune system to induce caner as a cure? Hormonal and chemical imbalance, which may vary much to neccesarly combat successfuly now, but the immune system is easier to control and may be the solution!

Cancer is a diverse disease with very different pathways and mechanisms involved in each type. This pretty much excludes one single treatment can cure all cancers, but there are some common feature many cancer types share. Taking out just a handful of these, could benefit most cancer types. For example, the MYC gene is deregulated in about half or more of human cancers and necessary for these cancers to proliferate.

This. To say "cure cancer" is to say "cure virus." Cancer is a description of a morphological/genetically anomalous cell that has uncontrolled growth, though the means of that growth differ. Just in the way that all viruses infect cells, you cannot use 1 vaccine to cure them all.
