Can you name them all from memory??

Hydrogen, Helium, Litium, Berilium, Boron, Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Fluorine, Neon, Sodium, Magnesium
That's as far as I can go

Probably yes except 6d.

I used to be able to do this in high school, but that was 6 or 7 years ago and I don't think I've had any reason to look at a periodic table since then

>> No.10705156

Theeeerrreessss..... hydrogen amd helium, lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon everywhere, nitrogen all through the air, oxygen so you can breathe and flurene for your pretty teeth, neon to light up tge signs and sodium for salty times, MAGNESIUM, aluminium, silicone, PHOSPHORUS, sulphur chlorine and argon.... thats all i remember of the song.

Not even close, literally!

We all know the Tom Lehrer song, and I updated it in middle school. Hell, people used to beat me up if I didn't sing it for them so I had to make it interesting someday.

Around 70%.
I can't remember the names of the synthesized/transuranic past Californium and the fucking lantanoids.

Come on mate I didn't even do chem in high school but I at least know them in order to argon.

That's where I have gaps as well. Some are just too irrelevant. Fuck Promethium, Thulium, Curium, Berkelium, Einsteinium, Fermium, Mendelevium, Nobelium, Dubnium, Bohrium, Hassium, Meitnerium, Darmstadtium, Copernicium, Nihonium, Flerovium, Moscovium.

I would like to add that this is for the table in order of increasing atomic number. I do know all of the elements in the S and P block groups, and about half the D block groups.

I guess this could help if you want to learn the whole periodic table by heart.
Most elements I at least know the name from the symbol because I encountered them at some point during my studies. But Transuranium elements are simply irrelevant for chemistry. And afaik most lanthanides are pretty much only used in magnets. Notable exceptions that I know of are Ce and Sm (they have some applications in organic synthesis) and Gd (used in MRI contrast agents).

Yes, as a matter of fact, I can. But then I literally washed out of O-chem as well and I'm well aware that I only possess trivial meme-knowledge.

t. not a chemist
