If philosophy was useful it would just be called science.

Every academic subject "came" from philosophy because every academic subject was literally called philosophy. That doesnt mean what we now mean by philosophy is the same. Philosophy is now better understood as an academic subject that deals with questions about knowledge, morality, existence which not allways intersects with other academic subjects and so it's not a requirement to know about it.

I know /lit/ has a pretty in-depth Google doc for philosophy, try looking over there for it. Might be what you're looking for.

Never understood the hate on philosophy. Now, the explicit academic interaction between science and philosophy aren't as pronounced outside of philosophy of science academia, but i never understood why you couldn't consume both. I study mathematical science, but Kant's thoughts on the ability to derive and create knowledge a priori addresses the dichotomy between experimentalists and theorists (and more specifically, empiricists and platonists). I legitimately think people who hate on philosophy are those who have an incredibly reductive view of what it is or what its academia entails. I co-authored a category theory/model theory paper with a philo student

I did though. What else do you want me to say?

Well, if you define philosophy to be "literally everything and anything I want" as you burger-flipping doctors tend to do, then of course, science came from philosophy.
