Why? SpaceX isn't interested in the moon IIRC.

Yeah SpaceX btfo lel. 4 dudes shitting in their own spacesuits are going to be grubbing around on the surface when a starship roars down onto the moon with 50 people sipping cocktails and eating caviar.

No, just confused. Why is NASA's push to the moon bad for a SpaceX fan?

I hope they don't launch it anywhere near where I live. But otherwise I look forward to their catastrophic failure.

I mean, I've always wanted to make my own moon rocket since I've learned the basics of spaceflight engineering. I'm even designing my own engine, it's not for said rocket but it can lead to that.

I'm in! Fuck all the safety measures and details though we'll be the first on the moon (again) by sheer willingness to fail

>> No.10660225

>>10660211
The problem is that it's very difficult to make a rocket that can both go to the moon and is simple. Pressure fed engines add alot of dry weight and pump fed engines are a nightmare to make without a preexisting design to base it off on.

Not saying it's impossible, but it'll be hard.
