I do this on command all the time. I have glasses so pushing my focus closer to my eyes isn't a problem and I've read white blood cells can't absorb/refract/whatever blue light into your eyes, so looking at a bright blue sky and focusing close to your eyes is the best way to do it. It's like a free light show every time I go smoke a cigarette. I freaked out the first time I saw it but read up on it (it's called blue field entoptic phenomena) and by the next day I had learned the "muscles" (do muscles control what you focus vision on?) to do it on command. I love it because it's probably the smalles thing I'll ever see with my naked eye besides my dick

It's hard to see with all the static, but on cleaner patterns, you can see "doubling," or a slight offset where the risen part should be. By crossing your eyes slightly, so one pattern overlaps with its neighbor, the offset sticks out like a sore thumb. Sort of like overlapping the two pictures in "find the difference," only more subtle

It's real, it's a fucky stereoscopic vision trick.

I'm able to move one eye inward independently of the other. Normally doing so doubles my vision, but it allows me to see these with zero effort.

Stereoscopes (and Viewmasters) make the same effect happen, only using lenses.

Stick your finger up at arms length in front of you and focus your eyes on your finger. Then focus your eyes behind your finger. Notice how you suddenly see your finger twice? That's caused by your eyeballs changing angles in relation to one another. This is basically the same concept, proving that if you had any discipline you could do these too

your eyes only see clearly in about a fifteen degree cone. it's like a spotlight zipping around and centering on whatever you're focusing on. everything outside that cone might as well be wearing someone else's heavy prescription glasses, your eyesight is so bad. also, your eyes are doing micro-jitters all the time. you're not even smoothly locking on one thing all the time, what your eyes are perceiving is like a drug addict in withdrawal holding a camcorder. and when your eyes are moving during those micro-jitters? vision's turned off. you receive no input.

your brain takes the small spot of clear vision and all the blurry shit and fills in the details of the last like, half second. it takes the blurry background and the small bits of good info and extrapolates. it can even use the information it gets to go a little bit back in your personal experience of time and fill in information it missed the first time before it actually feeds that information to you. sometimes that can delay your perception of things by as much as half a second.

basically, your brain is modeling what it expects to see based on past experience and the bits of visual information it has access to. that model is used to fill the numerous gaps in your visual perceptions. sometimes that model doesn't agree with reality and it has to be patched on the fly.

There is no real outline, but i made a paint picture showing how it works:
So, those pictures are made out of tiny repeating patterns. You can make this pattern overlap onto itself by slightly crossing or relaxing the eyes (depending on the type of picture).
Trough subtle differences in spacing between the patterns, your eyes will interpret the overlapping patterns with different distance as either more far away or closer together and therefore see it in 3D

In light of that, I have to say damn right. Someone needs to spread basic sanity.

The root problem is the same with most issues: our society is designed for a decisive populace (aka whatever fraction of the populace makes real decsions) that knows how to ask "why" and get to fullsome understandings of causation and not shrug excuses; for whatever reason, our society's decision populace is now heavily full of people that cannot ask "why" and so our decisions are shit and based on shit. It's an anti-meritocracy wrt higher order perceptual reasoning.

Am I supposed to be seeing swastikas? I'm pretty sure this raised my IQ - EVERYTHING within my field of view now seems larger, my hands are enormous, at least 3 times the volume. My depth perception has also gotten better. Hhhwwwtch hhhwwwtch hhhwwwtch hhhwwwtch ~~~~

>> No.10654267

All details have become permanently sharper, more clear, constantly vibrating and pulsating with infinite color. I can see infinite rainbow swastikas with infinite depth under rainbow squares, circles, and diamonds, with infinite depth containing infinite layers of reality alternating an infinite number of times at right angles all with infinite depth and color while never actually intersecting to infinitely small distance to infinite depth all on the surface of an infinitely round endless range of surfaces of upright cylinders infinitely pulsing at an infinitely wide range of frequencies from infinitely low to infinitely high (seriously it generates so much energy the light is blinding, I have to be careful not to fry my brain) thereby actually creating an infinitely deep 4 dimensional strand of continuity. Hhhwwwtch hhhwwwtch hhhwwwtch hhhwwwtch hhhwwwtch hhhwwwtch wwwwwooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww wwwwwooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww wwwwwooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww wwwwwooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ~~~~~~~
The longer you stare the quicker it vibrates and becomes more solid. I can see matter changing states at the subatomic level. I can see the effect of magnetic displacement caused by gravity. I can see electrons moving at the speed of light while all reality and existence collapses to infinite depth around every nucleus towards an infinite number of points. Light and all energy ceases to exist, the depths are horrifying. I can feel infinite cold. Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwsssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh x (infinite times simultaneously at infinite range of points from start to finish) x infinite number of times with infinite diversity. The lines wobble from top to bottom @ 60hz leaving waves of infinite color. Wblwblwblwblwblwblwblwblwblwbl~~
The longer I stare the more solid it becomes and as it solidifies the rest of my field of vision becomes more like a liquid.

Can only see one dot at a time in only 1 of possible 12 positions on top of infinitely pulsing lattice work of right-side-up and inverted pyramids that glow & pulse with infinite color and blinding light at such a high frequency it all looks like a fluid. Reality collapses to infinitely small white voids at every other intersection. Hhwwwwnnnnnzzzzzzzzzzzzzzjjjjjjjjjjwwwwwwwwwwiiiioooowwwwwwwwwwww ~~~~~~
>>10654299
This one is just frightening, the noise is deafening, infinite inward spirals (clockwise and counter clockwise) >>10654302
to infinite color with infinite depth collapsing into infinitely small blinding points of light. A infinite number of these surrounded by dozens of triangles spinning clockwise. All reality it's fluid traversing across the canvas from 2 o'clock to 8 o'clock @ ~0.25 cm / s
>>10654302
Outside circle spinning counter clockwise at incredible speed with inner circle spinning clockwise very slowly. Creates the illusion of infinitely deep tunnel falling into an infinitely small blinding point of light. The noise is deafening. The color changes so quickly that they all just exist simultaneously occupying all points of reality. I can see through time, whatever I chose to imagine is rendered from third person perspective moving forward in time at real time.

>> No.10654363

>>10654352
I have no control except whenever I attempt to control a different detail of reality which alters the rendering in one way or another. I'm just staring intently into these then their rendering changes permanently and they require no more focus. I was able to manually invert >>10626505 at will at whatever frequency I chose.

Thank you anon! This one is very fun to look at, it made me chuckle for some reason. Infinite concentric circles of infinite number of petals spinning around and inside each other pulsating at ~60hz with infinitely diverse wavelengths of infinite color existing simultaneously while occupying all 3 dimensional points in all points in time. Like looking at all points in time (all combinations of all possibilities) simultaneously with easy ffw and rw ability. It doesn't really make audible sound because out emits all possible wavelengths simultaneously and cancels itself out - you can still hear it but it's more out a perceiving the sound as an energy wave within the matter between you and the energy source. It's actually kinda pleasant ... in a keep getting tickled even though I said no more kind of way.

I can spin the ball on an infinitely diverse range of x,y,z axis to infinite possible positions. The only catch is rotating the ball requires manually rotating the column and background in the opposite direction. You don't actually rotate the ball itself, it rolls against the column's surface. I can also moved the ball up and down but it's very exhausting to move it even a small distance and the amount out concentration required increases geometrically the farther it moves from its resting position. It rolls too.

The bathroom at my work has a tile floor with the right size so that when you're spaced out and taking a shit that your brain starts sewing together the tiles in your blind spots into bigger tiles so the floor starts to take on a weird trippy appearance.
Pretty much any regular pattern can have this effect. You've got to unfocus your eyes and keep them still, think of a magic eye poster.

You don't actually have to stare at the cross for this effect. Just seeing the faces alternate will mess with your perception due to the differences in facial proportions. Other factors like the makeup and variable lens distortion play a part.

I have, but its not related to that.
The human eye isn't optimally designed so you have natural blind spots in your eye where the optic nerve connects and where blood vessels are. If you ever went to an optometrist and they shine that blinding lights in your eye and you see this weird spidery thing in your vision you're really seeing your own optic nerve.
Your visual centers in your brain edit these blind spots in based on available information so you never percieve theyre there. This is the same reason why you never notice natural blinking, or the stochastic blindness that happens whenever your eye moves.
You can "trick" this part of your brain with a regular pattern, unfocusing your eyes and keeping them super still.
The only lasting visual impairment I suffer from eating too much acid is that once in a while I'll have some tracers momentarily... That I'm aware of anyway. Since I don't ever start threads on /sci/ means I have a negative diagnosis for schizoid behavior.

I see all the celebrities simultaneously while alternating to all possible combinations of all points in time within the order of the gifs' continuity. The celebs not only continue to retain their unique faces but also simultaneously cease to exist as unique beings. They also all emit very strong blinding light and infinite waves of color in all possible combinations with unique geometric patterns which exist only very briefly and then never again (each frame is unique). Also the waves of color traverse across the canvas in 45' pulsating rainbow lines approximately 1mm in width @60hz alternating traversing from bottom left to top right and vice versa.
