The History: Sonoluminescence (SL) was discovered accidentally in 1934 by two German scientists
at the University of Cologne as a result on their experiments with sonar. They placed an ultrasonic
transducer into a drum filled with photo developing fluid in hopes of speeding up the developing
process. The fluid was full of thousands of tiny, short-lived bubbles. Once the pictures were
developed, they noticed small dots on the pictures. They realized that the bubbles in the fluid were
emitting light when the acoustic field from the transducer was turned on. Due to the complexity of
their setup, the effect was not properly investigated

The Process: Sonoluminescence is the conversion of sound energy into light energy. Sound waves
are aimed at an air bubble trapped in a flask. The sound waves cause the bubble to oscillate furiously:
(a) the bubble starts out at a size around 5 microns (millionths of a meter); (b) then it expands to a
maximum size (not to scale) of about 50 microns. At this large size there is a near-vacuum inside the
bubble because of the relatively few air molecules present. This low-pressure near-vacuum region is
surrounded outside the bubble by a much higher-pressure region, which causes (c) a catastrophic
collapse of the bubble to between 0.1 and 1 microns. During this compression phase a flash of light (d)
emerges from the bubble [2]. The conversion of low energy density sound waves into light requires a
concentration of energy by a factor of 1 trillion!!

The Theory: Various theories exist as to what causes the bubble to emit light. The most outrageous
was suggested by Claudia Eberlien: that emitted light is a form of Hawking radiation. Stephen
Hawking postulated that when virtual photons are created in the vacuum near the event horizon of a
black hole, some fall into the black hole and some escape, causing the black hole to radiate. In the
context of SL, the basic idea is that as the bubble expands, a near-vacuum is formed. The virtual
photons experience extreme changes during the collapse process, and some are converted into real
photons

Scanning tunneling microscopy reveals unexpected optical phonon effect
In a recently published open-access paper in the journal Nature Scientific Reports, scientists reported the observation of a room-temperature condensate of optical phonons, called a Bose-Einstein (B-E) condensate.

“We did not predict this B-E condensate in our model. This is an absolutely new observation,” said Alexander “Sasha” Balatsky of Los Alamos National Laboratory, a coauthor on the paper with a research team from Air Force Research Laboratory, The Pennsylvania State University, Los Alamos National Laboratory and the Nordita Center for Quantum Materials, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University.

The new substance may be useful for phonon-based quantum computers, and it may also shed light on the conditions required to form biological Fröhlich condensates of collective modes.

The condensate was observed using a scanning tunneling microscope, and it appeared in the form of small droplets, whose radius is several nanometers, developing around the supporting molecular pillars. The authors explain that each pillar acts as a synchronizing agent and causes the phonons inside the tungsten diselenide atomic sheet to synchronize their oscillation phases, in a close analogy to synchronization of multiple atomic clocks, thus creating the BEC.

The bubble collapsing and imploding is called Cavitation. When the bubble collapses temps reach about 1000C for a very brief period of time.
This is used as a process to totally rip apart organic matter within a medium. e.g: water. Lipids in the organic matter are thence in a missible state i.e: oil mixed with water (not as an emulsion or other state). The different parts can then be better/easily seperated using mechanical methods like a centrifuge.
Avoiding heat and pressure or using an organic solvent like other conventional seperation processes means avoiding damage to said organic material.

Synthesis of phospahtes is said to be one of the most advantageous benefits of this method as it is more efficient than current methods

The point being that this sonochemical process produces heat and not light. Light observed is due to lighting exterior to the locus of the experiment and not from within. I.e: refraction of the beaker or parabola of the expwrimental kit.
The argument for a sound particle is like most particle science, a scam and usually 'proven' by probabilistic exotic math and ridiculously expensive and complex equipment made by engineers who are not involved in the end use of the contraption they are tasked to build.
