You guys don't actually think stem students and PHDs are more important than MDs and Pre-meds right

What makes MDs and Pre-meds important at all in your view? All they have is an unwarranted sense of self-importance. Sorry to deflate your bloated ego.

Do you think the opposite is true? Not all graduate education is made equal, and there a lot of different metrics by which to assess who's "more important." All this being said, if you are in pre-med or in med, then I'm not throwing automatic respect your way. The selectiveness of med school has nothing to do with difficulty and mostly to do with the board of doctors in the US aggressively keeping the MD salary high since medical doctors need to pay back heavy loans artificially put on their shoulders ;)

Most modern research is actually useless fluff that actually pollutes the pool of knowledge, making it more difficult to extract useful info. Instead of the problem of undersupply we have oversupply.

90% of aspiring scientists will fail.
that said, if the existing proportion of people who wish to be scientists did not aspire to be full-blown scientists, we'd probably have just one or two actual scientists right now.
their sacrifices are appreciated, but yet, they can't be acknowledged, because if they were, this would deter any and all young aspiring scientists from this particular area from aspiring to be scientists, and potentially others afield from doing something similar.
