I think our consciousness will enter a metaphysical realm that may or may not affect the physical realm.

The universe ends as I am the only one who really exists (everyone else is a figment of my imagination).

I believe that many functions simply dissolve, everything that is based in the brain.
I feel that we have an opportunity in life to strengthen or grow a "soul" an indivisible self that masters the body, mind and emotions that can persist (for a time) after the death of the physical body.
I also suspect that we live amongst eternal recurrence. We live in an infinite multiverse of parallel universes, so everything is always happening, all the time. "I" am the set of circumstances at my birth and improbable as it may seem, in an infinite multiverse at the moment of my death those same moments of my creation must also exist in another 'verse and thus after death, we live life again and again and again, the EXACT same life and this is the terrible wheel of karma until we either gain strength to find a new shell at death or achieve "nirvana" of nothingness or merging with the divine. I personally would like a new shell.

This. You become a smelly corpse in a coffin underground, waiting for the worms (or maggots, just wanted to be a faggot and make a pink floyd reference) to eat you until you become nothing but bone. You lay there for the rest of eternity.

The way I see it is, you don't remember the last 13.7 billion years.

So that's pretty much what being dead is like. :)
