His deal was the he published a solution to the Poincaré conjecture in a venue which was not qualified by the Clay Institute for receiving the money. Per the rules, because they thought his solution was correct even without getting peer review, they decided to offer him the money.

>>10509975
harvard mathematicians stole his proof to the poincare conjecture, the whole incident was whitewashed as a "misunderstanding", because of their connection with Yau. perelman felt disgusted with the math community.

Chinks stole credit of his solution to famous math problem. He got mad and left math community. Community then rewarded him with fields medal, but he refused it.

>> No.10510122

>>10510121
i think he refused the medal mostly because he felt hamilton deserved it as much as he did.

i think if you read any articles on him that's pretty much the story. he might've just become a hermit because he's really really autistic too.

His proof was correct, therefore they offered him the money. By contrapositive: they haven't offered you the money, therefore...

He was never a hermit, that's the media making up bullshit. He was out in his Russian jew village everyday.
He currently works in Sweden or Germany for some biochem company.

>chink plagiarism drives out one of the best mathematical minds
Not surprised.

both alexander grothendieck and ted kaczynski followed a similar trajectory. they were very good mathematicians but then they decided to reject society (and became hermits) and decided to live out their lives in a very hermetical way. they just withdrew from math academia and went to live in the forest.

it seems like some recurring trend among brilliant but eccentric mathguys, and perelman seems to fit that modus operandi

Based Chink being 59% of the world population and a rising world power, why are you still sucking up to the white man he is a infertile bird poo stain on history, that will only bring you down, look at all the places he has invaded and left in ruins.

This post refutes your point >>10512135
Perelman was specifically disenchanted with academia, while Kaczynski and Grothendieck rejected society as a whole
