4chan is multicultural. people from all around the world using it and shitposting in peace. everybody is anonymous. everybody gets along, calling each other fags and have fun. but the second someone reveals some personal info, like
>i'm 5'10"
>i'm a women
>i'm a engineer
>i'm black
>i'm from america
etc.
everybody starts insulting him. aslong as everybody is anonymous nobody cares, but when they know something about you the shitstorm begins.

why? is there a scientific explanation?

yes. Anonymity is what keeps us equal here. By tripfagging or divulging any personal details without provocation, you try to elevate yourself above anonymity. There are plenty of outlets which play into that, like literally every other social media site, but 4chan is about being anonymous, so when someone breaks that, fuck em.

Pathological. It's been deeply ingrained in them that Pandora's Box must never be opened. Governmentality and rigorous sanity are maintained by a flock mentality, instantly punishing anyone who wont bow down to Oedipus.

The world hates disciples.

...

yeah no.

The truth about 4chan is that everyone is a ruthless predator looking for any weakness to pounce on in the pleasant disguise of anonymity. If anyone diverts from this disguise, this person will be attacked. It's basically just common sense. Everyone is previously bullied kid wanting to bully someone else to compensate for their own pain, pretty much.

But you're absolutely right in everything else, I hadn't thought about what a exemplary multicultural experiment 4chan actually is. Or is 4chan an example of a fixed culture where a certain culture of people find themselves at home? In any case, it's a good point.

Eh, I don't know about that. It depends on what you mean by culture.
I mean it is de facto multicultural since you have people on it from all over the world as you say. You could also argue that there each board has a different culture, but these rarely interact. I still think that there is also a pretty specific culture to the site in terms of the kind of speech, post formatting, subject matters that is considered normal, eg. attention-whoring is worth ruining lives, calling each other fags or niggers is good banter, cynicism, (post-post...)ironic detachment, extreme political views or posturing as having them are all the norm, etc. and that calling attention to it, or deviating from it will get you insulted.
There is a basic underlying assumption that some people make that other posters are pretty much "like themselves" and also share their opinion on all of these matters. I don't know how prevalent these people are, but I suspect that they are the ones throwing the insults.

Assuming you know nothing about the person you're talking to, you're almost guaranteed to give them the benefit of the doubt and thereby consider them equals. Why wouldn't you? There's no reason for you to assume that they are a [insert whatever group of people you hate].

Once you've gathered sufficient amounts of experience this starts to change. Take /a/ as an example. If you actually watch and analyze animation, you won't browse that board and consider the other posters to be equally knowledgeable. You naturally start to assume for everybody to be a fucking newfag who deludes themselves into believing that they are oldfags. The thing is: As soon as you've reached the aforemedntioned state you'll likely start spending less and less time browsing the board.

normies dont understand the value of 4chan
in 4chan you dont need identity politics because no one has an identity
as soon as you bring in y our identity people will reject you because it goes against what 4chan is

As a 5'9 female engineering major from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, I approve this message.
More seriously, I think the point of anonymous discussion being disrupted by personal information is that it can be difficult for people to differentiate between factual and emotional levels. The mere mention of personal details implies to many that those weigh more importantly than the facts.

Because we have a mental representation/stereotype of an average 4chan user as a college-aged white male of average height, and we change this representation only in face of additional evidence, jumping from a stereotype to a stereotype.

So a stranger off the street telling you how nice your cock is has the same merit as your girlfriend saying it?

Either way, I desire to provide experience, not mere intellectualizations devoid of higher meaning. I can only exist through communicating my heart, not through the ego. I care for me, and I care deeply about you.
