Are stem cells a meme? Why has the hype died out?

I hate them personally but I know nothing about them

Big meme

I hate these memes
>blockchain (especially non-crypto applications)
>internet of things
>machine learning
>5G
Everyone who talks about them is a pseud.

But why though?

Facts. Do you think I could become rich by combining these buzzwords with biology stuff to make a biotech company?

It was a political meme to justify abortions and stealing foreskins from infants in my retarded opinion. Useless now because everyone’s cool with post-natal abortion. Popular science is a propaganda machine.

There's tons of clinical trials going on.

Politics, probably.

She's quite inspirational for me. I think she could have pulled it off if she just released a product tangently related to what she had promised. She went in too deep. Idk why she kept going on an idea that would never work when she had $400 million in funding...she could have pivoted to something actually functional with that money. My plan is to do the same in the beginning and then introduce something functional, no matter how boring or derivative it may be.

They're cells that haven't been given a job yet. The idea is that they could be used to fix brain damage or terrible tissue illnesses.

Research is still going strong, but now that embryonic cells are no longer required and there's nothing to outrage over, the media got bored

Unironically yes. But drop 5G.

Also, people used to think that we'd be able to grow stem cells to make replacement organs or tissue, but that has turned out to be very difficult, since veins and capillaries must distribute blood through any organ, and they are fractally complex down past microns. Stem cells are still very useful for mundane things though like skin grafts, human cell experimentation, and pharmacology testing.

Remember those companies who changed their names to something with blockchain? Whose stock instantly skyrocketed following the change?

I don't think they're a meme. But I don't think America will be in the forefront of its development. Not even kidding I think China will. Also another meme thing that I think needs more research is telomeres.
