Only atheists think in terms of science vs religion. Think of it this way, science is the measure and study of the physical using observation and experimentation. By it's very nature it cannot presume to offer any substantial view on the metaphysical. You cannot materially quantify the immaterial. It's like looking through a microscope and trying to find an atom of justice or a molecule of mercy.

PZ Meyers et al. capitalized on this and it all went to hell because people were taking sides through "virtue signaling" and this is where the meme of the Enlightened Euphoric comes from

its quite common to dumb down a large group of people before you have continental war. atheism is just one example.

this happened in the 1800s with fairy tales and public education, convincing generations of men that to be the tragic heroic figure is a desirable thing, a horrible misreading of the ancient greek cautionary tales and a mystification of pagan ritual stories which were just allegories for oral people to worship their ancestors. its happening again now with almost all video games revolving around war, killing and destruction, and popular culture often promoting extreme and catastrophic narratives. it will get to a fever pitch in the mid 20xx's and then some type of external shock will create the pressures necessary to ignite the previously pent up murder drive in these stupid populations.

your best bet to survive is to simply attach yourself to the weapons industry in some research capacity. as long as you can design the weapons, you wont be a victim of them.

Athiesm isn’t exactly an easy sell. Most religions offer some kind of comforting narrative about death and evil, relating to either your death or the death of a loved one.

Even if the second one is correct, death and the imperfections of the world are scary for most people. It’s as simple as that and that will never change even in the face of overwhelming evidence.
