Why do religion threads get so many replies? You would think /sci/ would be intelligent to ignore troll threads.

Insecure that a theist could be right? Trying to flaunt your intelligence to obviously flawed logic?

Come on /sci/.

Because many of us grew up in the US where creationists are allowed to vote and they make up a good percentage of the voting block.

It's a big issue because they use their votes to hinder scientific advancement.

Some studies suggest that people who don't follow a religion correlates to the increasing amount of suicides.

Although I am not a religion-fag myself, I do believe religions exists only to tame man's worst interests.

the stupid are just too damn irresistible. when someone is wrong, it drives me up the wall. a fault of mine.
though when I hear illogical arguments I've heard a million times, I ignore them with ease. they're just too boring for me to care.

the less retardedly desperate and clingy people we have in the world, the easier it is for natural selection to do its thing.

Thank you for reminding me to post my daily troll threads.

But the truth is religious people do just as bad things as any non religious person. And even better, with christianty's whole "just ask god for forgiveness", its much much worse.

>/sci/ would be intelligent to ignore troll threads.

Actually, the reverse - because science types care about evidence and fact, they find it harder to let a troll go, even when they know they are being trolled. It's just as true in real life.
