Do you have a Bachelor's already? If not, then you'd be on the late side. Scientific fields (except for CS) don't just require a BS, you need an advanced degree. So we're talking 2-4 years beyond BS level.

I'm 23, turning 24 in april and it wasn't until recently I've gain a serious interest in math and science.

I feel like because I've been outside of school for so long that it'd be impossible for me to be successful in any way, might as well just keep working on my game and self-study until I can make a personal lab.
