People seem to be confused between threads and processes here.
That shouldn't be too surprising, seening this is /sci/, by basically all work is done in threads. The process is just the encompassing environment that the threads work in. If the parent process is doing work, then that work is done in one of the threads in that process.
But it's also not right to label a thread AS the process, especially when you have multiple threads, because the threads can still become orphaned.

Comparisons of the trinity to other things are almost always cringy.
