/sci/ - Science & Math

Yeah, but /sci/ generally ranges from unbearably dull conversations about some of the best scientific topics ever made to obsessive, rage filled screaming contests about old race...

Also, elitist cunts and rulefags fucking everywhere. It's not like spending time with a bunch of 30 year olds. It's like soending time with a bunch of hardened, hateful old men with major issues.

I just want to be able to casually talk about science and happen to mention a modern theory without half the posters jumping on me for mentioning a centrist topic and "being a liberal".
And there's a fair share of historical revisionism and memes here too.

I'd like to at lest be able to start a thread asking you niggers how you liked renewable energy, and have a nice conversation tearing it apart in contrast to fossil fuels without some fucking neo-nazi having a literal stroke.

How bad off are we that we can't even mention new technology to make fun of it here? What the fuck is wrong with you people?

Yup, that's bait. Really good bait. I give it a solid 9/10.

/sci/ is being used as an incubator for online propaganda.
That is why it is constantly filled with the same old bullshit.
Who though a pseudo anonymous online forum was a good idea, lol?
Might have worked when 4chan was relatively unknown but now everyone knows about it and it is the prefect place to start some shilling campaign.

/pol/tards ruined /sci/. Just look at all the racebait, science-hating, iq, and retard level math threads we have. At this point /sci/ is probably worse than /x/.

>> No.10344675

Also, I have a theory that if we were to create a /sci/ but enforce a non-English language, it would immediately cut down the shit to almost nothing.
The whole problem with /sci/ is this constant American political propaganda. Americans usually cannot speak another language.

/sci/ has had a large percentage of the board dominated by garbage threads for a long time now. Either ignore and enjoy the good threads or revel in the absurdity and stop being so stuck up. You're being dishonest with yourself if you think anything is changing. Those threads have always been there, and to be fair more recently I'm noticing that the general narrative in them is shifting back to liberal. Which is quite satisfying, especially in the garbage race bait threads.

/sci/ got raided pretty heavily over the last year or so. It's just slate star codex and hbd edgelords waging their "culture war". The only bright side to it is that they demonstrate how useless they otherwise are if that's an opportune use of their mental energy.

This was made by a CS fag probably. If a girl hasn't destroyed your ass in mathematics you are lying about it. I'm fairly good at it (above average in the best math school in our country) third year of undergrad, and there are multiple women who spit answers to combinatorial puzzles faster than some of our IMO-goers.

You either don't go outside or never talked to anyone in high school.

If you're in the top school in your country then saying the people there are good at math is the most biased shit you could possibly use. It ignores important data like those who didn't make it in to the school and the ratio of men to women in the class.

>> No.10353714

The biggest groups of posters on this board seem to be these:
- LARPing high school students with above average intelligence who pretend to go to uni, and want to discuss entry level topics of their future field.
- /pol/tards who want their conservative political opinons be validated by "science". They don't really care about anything besides /pol/ garbage and always try steering threads to be about topics they care about. They seem to create the majority of threads on the board.
