It's honestly hard to say. Boomer generation has been so focused on maintaining status quote at the expense of the future that we're reaching a critical point where that's no longer possible. Not just because it's no longer feasible to ignore but because those who are experts at passing the buck to future generations will be phased out of the work force and die off soon.

With the status quote no longer maintainable there will be a massive paradigm shift. It's hard to speculate whether the outcome will be positive or negative. Either way, the future is looking quite volatile.

10 years
The world continues the same as always for some time. However, western society starts showing symptoms of social unrest as result of increasingly absurd PC-policies, economic inequality grows just as corruption in governments. The ‘elite’ increasingly start showing aristocratic attitudes. Thinking about it this is already happening today.
30 years
With the growing population and increased consumerism, the environment’s collapse reaches critical levels. Humans are having trouble getting to mars and the 4th industrial revolution continues to replace human jobs. As consequence, unemployment levels skyrocket. Social unrest increases on a global scale.
50 years
Full blown AI. Humans have trouble stablishing a proper colony in mars. The Environment now is really fucked up because no one gave a shit. Living in a police state dystopia china style.
