Ever gone to sleep and not remembered any of your dreams? Death will be like that time gap. It's not so bad, death, just the dying part. It's why I work in substations, if lucky I'll be vaporized and not feel much when I die. Better than lying in a hospital bed.

Relax!, in all likelihood you will be very old when the time comes. Just about everybody you know will be be very old and most already dead. Death will be a long desired eternal sleep. If most religions are correct, you will awaken one day to a young strong body in paradise.

OP, are you afraid of what you believe death to imply, whether it is oblivion, eternal nothingness, an afterlife, hell, reincarnation, or the uncertainty of it all? Or are you afraid of death no matter what it is of those scenarios?

Either way, if you want a practical experience that might ease your fears, >>10343538 and >>10343788 are on the right track. For instance, I was shown that life is at least an ultrajoke. It really is ridiculous how seriously we take this role-playing experience, but that is also part of the immersiveness and the fun that we wanted to have. Believing the movie, video game, or book is real while you are experiencing it makes it more fun. You wanted to believe in the exclusivity of this world before you came here, so enjoy it!

Also, just because religions are demonstrably silly, it does not mean that materialism is true and that death implies oblivion. There is a tremendous amount of empirical evidence that suggests that our mind or consciousness continues past the point of physical death and that there is an infinitely amazing afterlife awaiting unconditionally around the corner of a ceased heartbeat for everyone.

In essence, the purpose of these lives is to learn to be an infinitely loving and kind person despite the fact that the world is demonstrably shitty and it is really hard to develop character here. But the person who is infinitely happy, kind, loving, accepting, and forgiving while they are being tortured, to take the ultimate example, will quite figuratively explode from happiness in heaven. So use your challenges as gifts to develop your character. After all, you had the multiverse as your smorgasbord while you were still in paradise, and yet you chose this life; being this character, in this society, in this world.

I have never felt fear of death (I have fears of geting cripled, being socialy excluded etc., but no death itself), so I really don't know how you feel. But one thing I can tell you - you are looking for right answers for the wrong questions. Death is very important part of life. Without death, life has no meaning. What would you do if you were imortal? What would you possobly do with this "gift"? Enjoy life, only than you will be able to enjoy death.

>Without death, life has no meaning. What would you do if you were imortal?

So you are essentially arguing that if a paradise afterlife exists, it must be meaningless to be infinitely happy forever.

Yeah, I do not buy that argument. Whenever I am deeply happy, I feel a lot of meaning, and zero absence thereof.

"Not yet knowing life, how may you know death?"
"Am I afraid to die, or am I more afraid to live?"

So on. All I can tell ya is it happens, and that's about it. Once life gets 'round to torturing you a bit more its meaning becomes clear, and its meaning becomes empty. All at once.

Death is everywhere, all the time. You cannot gain without losing. You cannot lose without gain. Destruction is an act of creation, creation is an act of destruction. Change entails both. When viewed in absolute terms, this is what is present in all frames.

Death just is. You get used to it and direct your efforts towards what matters while you can. Overarching fear of death just for the sake of it is the sure ticket to a life not worth living. Death should be feared for a reason.

Temporary happiness is great, never ending happiness is a curse. I don't belive in afterlife, but still - if after death I go to a magical place where I am forever and ever super happy - would that be meaningful? Would that be something interesting? I am sure, that after some eternities in place like that, I would indeed wish for death.

Everything that I do in this life, I do for happiness. When my daughter was born, it was the greatest moment of my life. I'm so glad I got over my fear of being a dad. This has rewarded me with happiness. Now I have difficulties to get enough money to satisfy all the needs of my family. I feel miserable. I have to fight, I have to work hard for my happiness. If someone gave me enternal happiness, I would not fight, I would not work hard, I would not overcome my fear. I would not have a daughter. Fuck that. At the pearly gates I would ask St. Peter to send me back. Heaven is for beta cucks.
