is consciousness an emerging meta state of our brain?
let me make an analogy: let's take a 3d computer game. you can observe the processor, ram, etc.. all your life without realising that it is showing a 3d world. the meta state of a game only emerges when a observer is making sense out of it.
the same with the conciseness which basically observes itself.

Yes consciousness is an emergent property you would know this if you took any bio class ever

Or perhaps your cells didn't hit the critical complexity level at the time

big claim. no proof

What's with all the consciousness threads? Contain yourselves, people.

is there anything more fascinating?

Brainlets beware, rigor is there.

it's almost as if nonscientific claims in either direction can't be falsified.
Shocker.

lol no
you observe 'yourself' do you? what about 99.99% of yourself that you don't observe or don't realise half the time?

Scrolling through a dozen threads asking the same vacuous questions gets pretty dull.

what if a faculty emerges out of those states to manage change? perhaps we need to require ourselves to think about the past as relevantly as we would the future when the piece of bread came up to our lap and asked our stomach to ask us to eat it for hunger’s sake. it isn’t up for debate that we quantify though now is it?

I mean, its not terrible but
you don't need all that fucking analysis. Its actually pretty simple. I'm working on a formal thesis of it that will be well known within the decade. Its literally just the consequence of general intelligence. Computers are conscious too, but not of time, or themselves.

think about it this way, everything about your consciousness is simultaneously *WHAT* you are. This is why it is difficult to lie, and easier if you attempt to suspend disbelief of the lie in your own mind. Tbh I bet I'm not alone in my understanding, anyone who has taken a hallucinogenic drug, had a lucid dream, meditated for 5 hours or longer, or had a stroke, is likely to have had direct experience of this fact. Maybe they weren't looking for it like I was, but I paid attention and saw at one point, as my mind was torn apart and built back up, and my physical movements correlated. I saw how directly correlated, how the chaos in my mind was reflective of actual motions of particles within my mind. lol im so high

>emergent property
this, along with "complex information processing" are cowardly hand waves.
