To be fair, I highly doubt he set out to solve the mathematicians quandary. He just happened to solve it for the purposes of proving that he could do it to /sci/ and it just happened to be a problem that important researchers were attempting to solve for years.

There's no point in guessing it now, he didn't attach the name to equation, and there's no way to prove that it was you 7 years later. And if this somehow become useful/important, having future students learning about it and seeing "Anon from 4chan" as one of the authors will confuse the hell out of them.
