I am now older and want to learn about topics that involve mathematics, like statistical modelling and machine learning.
But I can't understand the math required for even the basics of these topics, and I can't make any progress.

I saw that the sticky has resources on learning math, but does anyone have tips for quickly getting up to speed with math from the ground up? I feel that I cheated myself out of a good education

Please elaborate, is it a bad idea to pursue those fields?

I want concrete experience with how big companies do these things to manage risk and other stuff
