>> No.1006800

Here is the answer forever.

It is B

It cannot be A or D because if you were to choose A, why not choose D, and if you choose D why not choose A? Because they have Identical answers, it doesn't make sense to choose either one. So you have a choice between B or C. A 50% chance, so the answer is B.

Hadn't thought of that, thanks.

My reasoning was "You're either right, or you're wrong. 50/50."
It's like winning the lotto, either you win, or you don't.

4 situations assuming the answer is 50%
Pick a= wrong
b=right
c=wrong
d=wrong

25%=50% hurr

>> No.1006810

Tough one.

There are 3 answers-0%, 25%, and 50%. That means I have a 33.33...% of picking the correct one. However, 33.33...% isn't listed, so I have a 0% of picking it. That would make 0% the correct answer, but there is a 33.33...% that I will pick it...

The logic most people fall into:
C - Cannot be correct because it contradicts itself
A or D - Cannot be correct as it would mean 50%
B - Cannot be correct because you have a 25% chance

The problem is:
The numbers it gives you are part of the question, not the possible answers.

This question is not answerable by normal statistics ITS A TRICK QUESTION WHY DO YOU ALWAYS FALL FOR IT

Close, but not quite. There are 4 options, which means the odds of choosing the correct one 1/4, 25%. There are 2 answers which satisfy that, so 50% of the available answers are correct. 50% is B, which is why B is the correct answer. If either A or D were to change, then the one which remained 25% would be correct.

>> No.1006892

>>1006888
the act of b being the answer changes the probability back to 25% therefore making the question unanswerable by your logic

no because the probability of actually picking b is 25% but by picking b you are stating that the odds of picking it is 50%. You have to think this all the way through, there is no answer

But there is. Think of the outcomes of the lottery. Either you win it or you don't right?
So, the fact that there are only two outcomes possible means that there is a 50/50 chance you'll win!
