Can you break down this in a way so that the common man could understand?

that a riemann integral formula?

if so, it means sum up a bunch of little inscribed rectangles to get the area under a curve, then take the limit of smaller and smaller rectangles

So we have a function, f(x). I'm guessing this is for your calculus class, so you want to find the area under the curve given by the function. You can do this in a crude way by drawing a bunch of rectangles, for which the area of each is given by the height (f(x)) and the width, which is the spacing (delta x). The area under the curve is approximately the sum, but it's not perfect.

What that line is saying is to make extremely fine rectangles of very very small (infinitesimal) width. That's what the limit says. The term with the sigma is just the representation of the area of the rectangle sums.

its just the integral as limit, try to see it as the sum of a lot rectangles with lenght F(xi) and width delta X

it means you chop the area under graph f(xi) up into many slices (rectangles) where the height is determined by the y, the width is as close to 0 as you can get (lim: delta xi -> 0). Then you add all those slices together (the Sum) for the total area under the graph. I think.

the limit as a small change in each x_i approaches zero is the sum from i equal to 1 to m of a function f applied to x_i multiplied by a factor of a small change in that x_i

Just something extra to add to these, this method is called Tai's method and is widely used in biology.
