Hey so I have a question for you guys, and it's kinda sketchy.

So I live in Northern California, where there's been this serious drought for around 5 years now. As of recent, there was a forest fire about 8 miles away from my home, and I could see the smoke plume from my front door.

So I was getting onto the freeway to go into town, and I saw a plane flying overhead, and it spat out what looked like a vapor trail, but only for what looked like a stretch of 150 feet or so. This kind of wafted very steadily for 30 seconds, and little lines (or maybe trails) began developing underneath it, as if it were liquids having been dispersed, falling through the sky.

Now that we have the background set, I want to jump forward to 3 days ago, It was the day before it was supposed to get a little overcast, maybe rain.

I look up in the sky, and I see an unusual amount of vapor trails from jets, and not just towards the airport about 40 miles away, but in seemingly random directions, but containing a relative grid-like pattern. The disturbing part was that they all had that same quality of having begun in a liquid state before entering that level of the atmosphere.

Then about four hours later, it became very overcast, and rained hard the next morning into the evening.

Then after the rain let up, the clouds dispersed, and the sun came through, as well as more of those strange vapor trails.

What concerned me is that I never saw a jet make one, they were just there.

The clouds came back, didn't rain much, save for a sprinkle here and there.

Anybody care to discuss the nature of these trails? Is it weather related or gov't related?

>pic unrelated, but still kinda cool
