First off, we need to explore our own galaxy before we go off exploring other galaxies that take much longer to get to.

You're also going to need more money than that of the European Union's and US's debt combined.

We should work on cryogenic immortality or something like that. Also we should work on way more powerful space telescopes. Hell, we wouldn't even have to explore most planets if we had better telescopes.

Really the only thing that will increase the interest for space travel in the general public would be profit. We should start strip mining asteroids, wave the profits around, suddenly everybody and their dog is hooked on space travel and gathering resources.

This probably answers nothing they needed.
