One of my professors worked at a high level for pfizer in drug research and development. You told me that pharma scientists are blood drinking jewish vampires. He's actually very nice and a normal person. Why would you do this? Why are scientists, and chemists in particular, so often demonized by this board? I thought most of you were studying science yourself?

It makes me wonder who actually browses /sci/

Has anyone here been involved in animal research that they found questionable? I started working at a new company about a year ago after doing animal research at a university for a few years and noticed some big differences in how animals are treated in private industry that I have serious ethical concerns about.

The first thing I noticed was that there was no specific flow-rate used for CO2 euthanasia, causing the animals to struggle and gasp a lot when putting them down. This is disturbing for the people doing it and more painful for the animals. At university, they hammered in using a specific flow-rate for euthanasia to reduce pain and suffering but they used whatever amount entered the chamber. I believe the exact rules have been changed and might be newer than when they started (17 years ago or so) so I can see how this would get overlooked. Pointing this out was obviously taken REALLY badly from a brand new person as you might imagine and I haven't been allowed to enter the animal facilities since. I still hear all about it from my coworkers though and I'll list the stuff I'm worried about below.
