I hate you kids. There's more than one definition of a species. Half of this thread is fighting without realizing you're referring to different species definitions.

The best answer to OP's question is that the nominal view of humans is that we are a single species. Dogs are also considered a species. They have many different breeds/races, same as humans. They can all interbreed, same as humans. Dogs can also breed with wolves, which many common people think is a separate species.
