It is not at all subjective, if two populations are separated either by biological or geographical situations from interbreeding then we can class them as a seperate sub-species or species at a stretch. Seeing as almost all humans can, and would, interbreed with one another we do not not any of the given requirements for seperation by species. Hence why we use the word race to define certain groups of members of our species who exibit certain genetic chracteristics.
