Yeah well, consciousnesses can not be both dead and alive, and so he figured out that consciousnesses resist super position, so there must be introduction of some non physical input /information into the system. Turing actually was maybe a bit onto this as well, pic related when he talked about '(choice machines or c-machines)' whose 'motion is only partially determined by the configuration' as opposed to '"auto-matic machine" (or a-machine)' which 'cannot go on until some arbitrary choice has been made by an EXTERNAL operator'. So he's talking about non-algo input with ontic choice 'outside' of the system. So consciousness as an input device in an interactively computational universe. Gödel knew that mind was fundamentally non-physical as well.

Ah, yes, CHOICE, ie none-algo/programmatic input. Yes. And this is why, or part of why, no doubt, Gödel came to his conclusion AGAINST the computational theory of mind. He also later took turing to task for this view. Though, to be fair, turing DID mention a 'choice machine' whose 'motion is only partially determined by the configuration' which 'cannot go on until some ARBITRARY (my/anon's emphasis) choice has been made by an external operator.' And so even he intuitively was tapping in to the idea of non-programmatic/algo mind and non-local, non-virtual/physical/formal language-istically constrained thought, IE FREE WILL AWARENESS UNIT THOUGHT.
