>astronomy is literally "I have a telescope"
Ever hear of radioastronomy? You're being pretty reductionist here, there's a difference between astrophotography and astronomy and both are cool by the way.
>I hope you're just making a "god tier" joke here
No I wasn't
>the study of made up shit by humans is somehow beneficial.
You must be 18 years or older to post here, you get pic related.

Archaeology is a very academic field, if you're not interested in graduate school it is hard to have a lot of variety in terms of job options. Most undergrad archaeologists do some form of CRM (cultural resource management), which means you'll typically working before a construction site or being contracted to survey big wilderness plots/farms. If you think that's cool (or like jobs you get mix of desk and outside), and like it after an introductory class, definitely pursue it. I wouldn't recommend weaning off of stem classes, as archaeology is one of the more technical soft sciences, but I find there are lots of kids your age are just being funneled through stem and anthropology because they don't feel passionate about anything. Archaeology has some empiricism, and is the breaking field for a lot of "muh it's too hard" students. For example, I personally know no Archaeologist who didn't dual PhD in some form of Earth Science, as the field has become more advanced than "whoa here's some gold bro". If you like other cultures, and doing the job historians are fucking up, but want something more technical that rewards you with things you get to find, go for it or at least try it.
