Is IQ genetic?

>Dad is black, criminal, lived on welfare all his life, would put his IQ and around 95
>Mom is single mom, had me at 22 out of wedlock with criminal dad, now he degenerated into watching reality tv all day

Now given these terrible circumstances, and being raised in a pretty terrible environment, me and my sister are doing better than anyone in the family ever has. I would put my sisters intelligence somewhere around 115-125 and my own is a little higher (133 tested).

These numbers are tested with academic achievement so I do think they're pretty valid (I've had no problem getting through undergrad engineering at caltech, now looking at purdue for aerospace grad, always been a top student, sister just got into berkeley with a 2250 SAT)

None of this was encouraged by my parents or the environment, around 15 or 16 years old I emancipated myself and just used the internet and other resources to find the right way to get things done, also kinda put this on my sister as well

tl;dr Why my parent dumb dumbs but me not?
