Sorry friend, I got no idea.

There WERE discussions in a longevity meme forum on whether or not we could contribute to specific simulations of protein folding that would enhance our knowledge in such a way that it would help longevity research.

Essentially, the answer was no, we cannot. The program itself is made to make "general" simulations of protein folding.

Of course, we COULD make a more specific program to simulate specific protein folding. But that would be a pretty damn heavy program to code.

The general consensus was that, since we cannot do such a thing, then we'll just hope general research and hope it'll fall in our research interests. If it doesn't that's fine. Because we do it for SCIENCE before all ! Ahahah

Thank you friend ! You guys a giving me hope in /sci/ again.

Good luck if you want to code for science though, you'll need to be knowledgeable in both subjects ! You got all my wishes of success.

Well welcome ! I'm pretty damn happy that people are joining, ahahah !

However, can someone explain to me why some people here say biology is not science ? I thought it was chemistry that was considered so.

vague wording, i meant: made many key contributions to our current world view
..just something that came to mind: why do all the planets orbiting the sun go at exactly the right speed? if they went slower, they would spiral to the sun, and if they went faster, they would escape to space... well, the answer is: because all those bodies that went or too slow or too fast either spiraled to the sun or escaped to space: only the ones going to the right speed remain.. that answer only was possible after evolutionary theory.. newton thought god put the at the right speed...

You assume they are wrong but maybe they aren’t.
I’m not a Christian, I don’t believe in god or the bible. I’m a rational pragmatic scientifically inclined human being. But still I have no proof that god doesn’t exist. For all I know he may actually exist (in some form or another) and I’d be cool with that. Many very intelligent men believe or, if they’re dead, believed in god.
The truth is, nobody knows. And despite you thinking you know for a fact that god is a lie based on some metal band’s lyrics since you started rebelling against your Christian parents at 14 of age, you don’t know for sure either.
And you trying to convince everybody
