>>Organic Chem. lab
>>Students synthesising Anthraquinone
>>One of them poured Anthracene and other the ingridients then heat it.
>>His solution var green - blue
>> Meanwhile teacher enters and see the color of the solution .
>>Teacher worry about color and took it and leaves the lab
>>After a while teachers comes in , pissed of , yelling everyone.

all right you science fags
i've been searching for hours explanations for this but can't find anywhere so here i am

it's about absolute entropy formula
we have
S2-S1 = C ln(T2/T1)

if T1 = 0K then S1 = 0 so we have to integrate
(C/T)dT from 0 to T to get S

all right .. cool formula
what's the fucking point to integrate from 0 ? how does it gives us a value since ln(0+) = -∞ ?

let's say after integration, considering S at 0K = 0
we just have S at T = C ln(T)
kewl we can now calculate entropy of fucking anything
well .. what about something that is at a temperature of 1K ? S = still fucking zero ?
and at 0.5K S is fucking negative ?
i'm fucking lost help me

Quick math question.
There are these function notation questions I have to do, which SHOULDN'T be a problem.
However, it's defining f(x) (and another) as three (seemingly) random points, which is not a function to my knowledge.
What do?
> f(x)= (3,5), (2,4), (1,7)
> g(x)= sqrt(x-3)
> h(x)= (3,2), (4,3), (1,6)
> k(x)= x^2+5
questions:
(f + h)(1)=
(f of h)(3)=
thanks in advance, sorry if this is a stupid question that everyone should know.

I agree.

On thing I particularly enjoy is mathematics, physics and any majorly cerebral thing. I think chemistry and biochemistry are interesting too, but I don't know if I would want to spend my life on that. I also enjoy music and art, but I can't get a job with that stuff, so that's a hobby.

>That feel when engineers have better chances than scientists

Why haven't we had as many great scientific minds in the last 30 years? Was the only reason we had so many great minds in the 20th century due to pre-Hitler Germany? I want to see more cool people like Einstein :( .

Quick question:

Did people like Einstein, Da Vinci, Newton, etc. consciously want to be great, or were they just passionate about something? Does greatness require someone to want to be great as well as intelligence and being passionate? What do these people have that make them remembered? Was it because they all were really weird?

Picture related, it's someone who will nearly always be remembered.

Hey /sci/, could you help me out here? I want you to describe the smartest person you personally know and your first encounter with them. Sadly I have not met someone I consider smarter than me, that is why I would like to know what these people are like. (I have met people more well educated than me, but they still fall into the same holes that the normal people fall in.)

I'm longing to meet someone smarter than me.

I'm looking to go into a major that will combine math and science and physics. I have equal interest in all 3.

I hope to make discoveries that will pave the way for finding (or if I'm lucky I will find) new energy sources (fusion perhaps).

What should I major in?
