What are the true definitions of Newton's laws? Every site i checked have different definitions and explanations

I have a calculus 2 exam tomorrow. The material is fairly easy stuff but the exams are fucking ridiculous. The questions are never straight forward, in fact they are incredibly obscure. They don't test calculus knowledge rather they test your ability to see the trick and do the algebraic manipulations. So I'm trying to determine the best way to study for this exam. It is in 2 days

"Law III: Every male engineer attracts every single other male engineer by a force pointing along the line intersecting both points. The force is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them."

>Newton's third law

I'm sorry this is a stupid question

So if the Earth is pulling me with a force, I'm pulling it with an equal force?! Just in the opposite direction? How could that be, I'm obviously misunderstand something because my gravitational field can't be as strong as the Earth's...but forces apparently come in pairs, I'm reading here

How does that work?

How did Newton know that things will keep on going if nothing's stopping them when he had never been to space?

Isaac Newton chose #1 because he believed his mathematical universe could only be sustained through divine providence.

To all of you:

Its understandable if you have a different religious viewpoint as someone, but realize that someone can be both your scientific superior and suscribe to religion. Cut out the fucking name calling

Good day, /sci/!

I have come with some inquisitions. I am a Junior in High School, and I have grown very fond of my physics class. Therefore I'm considering to pursue a career in physics. Now my questions are:

a.) Do you have any recommendations on books that will give me a better understanding and knowledge of physics itself, so I can learn more and get ahead of my peers?

b.) What professions/careers should I look into if I do decided to major in physics in college? I plan on attending Rice University.

Hello, /sci/

i have a question on one dimensional motion for a physics assignment. I was wondering if you guys could help me.

An water balloon is dropped from a 200m tall tower. An archer at the base fires an arrow 5 seconds after the balloon is dropped at an initial velocity of 40m/s. Where does the arrow intercept the balloon?

I made x(ballon)=x(arrow), because they meet in the same spot. I then used x(final)=x(initial)+v(initial)+.5at^2 on both the balloon and arrow, and ended up with a quadratic function: 0=-9.8t^2+40t-200

It was then i realised i forgot to account for the 5 second delay of the arrow being launched. I have no idea on how to do this.

Can you guys offer some hints or guide me on the correct path?

Hi /sci,
Hoping to find some help with a Calc problem.

Trying to Integrate
dx/(x(x^2-4x+5)

Using partial fractions. I got to
1 = A(x-(2+i)(x-(2-i) + B(x)(x-(2+i) + C(x-(2-i)

And I'm unsure how to deal with the imaginarys in order to find A B and C.

WolframAlpha failed me.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If he wasn't picture this

If energy can not be created or destroyed what does heat energy become?

That consequetivively shows Isaac Newton was a dumb ass and if he was around today Stephen Hawking would laugh at him with his cool computer voice.

Einstein was INTP, and Newton was INJT.

Anyone?
