What is the science behind productivity? What are the best methods to overcome extreme laziness, lack of motivation + energy and depression and maximize personal productivity?

I feel like this is a very important subject from which most people could gain tremendously, yet I feel there is no meaningful research into this topic, just a ton of platitudes and meaningless talk.

Or is there nothing that works and in the end it boils down to genetic traits, skill, mindset and just doing instead of thinking and there is nothing reliable to assist you?

Hello /sci/ I'm a biology major, I decided to take Biological Anthropology this year and I felt something was wrong with the lesson itself but whenever I asked my professors they just gave me the same answers in the books. So my question is;

They claim that race or subspecies in this case doesnt exist in humans however they say that SNPs cause the genetic diversity in the human population and these SNPs are only due to enviromental modifications. Also it is stated that for something to be considered a SNP or a genetic mutation in this case, it must atleast be found in %1 of the entire human population. Given all the sources are from American Universities and also given how they treat anything that may involve racism I felt like the whole topic is kind of misleading and puts Homo Sapiens in a completely different spot compared to other animals. It feels like they are only calling SNPs and other shit just because of the possible inconviences and we obviously
have subspecies.

What do you do if you are interested in science but know that you are not intelligent enough (+missed the train) to make any meaningful contributions?

Is there a /sci/-based remedy against feeling like shit from common cold virus?
